Kevin was a great footballer, but the thing that sticks out for me the most about Kevin, and the biggest compliment and the memory I always take away about him, was how he treated people, and I recall specifically how he was with my dad. He always called my dad “Mr Merson”. No matter how many times he saw him, he was always polite, always a gentleman.

He was a top, top bloke; a top human being and that sums him up for me. He carried himself so well. He always had the utmost respect for people, and I can’t talk highly enough about him.

I was honoured when the family asked me to be an Ambassador for his Foundation.
