David Hillier, Arsenal Midfielder & FA Youth Cup Final Winner
“I miss him so much”
Being asked to be an ambassador for the Kevin Campbell foundation was both an honour and a privilege.
I first encountered Super Kev as an eleven-year-old in a south London school match and unfortunately for me, he was on the opposing team. He was immensely powerful but even at that age, a gentleman, and that never changed.
We joined Arsenal and started our amazing journeys, first as schoolboys together, then apprentices, then professionals in the first team.
He was my best friend & my big brother; he had time for everyone and brought light and that smile every day to everyone.
He made time for everybody he came into contact with. He was gracious and inspiring as well as being an amazing footballer. He lived life to the full whilst supporting others to do the same, I miss him so much, which is why the Kevin Campbell Foundation is so important to me and so many others; his family, friends and the charities he supported.
To continue his legacy, continues his journey.
Super Kev, we love you.
David Hillier
