Kevin was like a big brother to me and took me under his wing.

When I joined Arsenal FC as a schoolboy, Kevin was already signed up under contract as a professional and competing for a place in the 1st team. But he always had time for me.

He would pick me up and drop me home from training, and coach and mentor me about having the right attitude on the pitch. He knew I was hungry to make it as a professional footballer and he believed in me and told me how good I was as a player.

His nickname for me was “Coles” and everyone at Arsenal called him by the nickname “Rambo”.

Kevin was the life and soul of every party. His energy level was crazy! He was like a pied piper; people flocked to him due to his effervescent personality.

I was so honoured when Kevin’s family approached me about becoming involved with The Kevin Campbell Foundation. The Foundation will be a testament to his greatness, not only as a professional footballer but also as an amazing human being.
